“As a writer, you should not judge, you should understand.”
Ernest Hemingway
How very true that is, Mr. Hemingway. On the other hand, a man can remain angry. Just because you don’t judge doesn’t mean you can’t be angry & hold a grudge.
Recently, I had to let go of some of my anger, swallow my pride & be the “bigger” person. I had to let bygones be bygones. It was not an easy task, but I was forced to consider was my pride & anger worth the unhappiness of my wife.
Well, it sure as hell was not. So I had to bury the hatchet, sorta speak, & put the ill feeling I had towards someone in a hole.
Now I know I am being vague, dear Reader, but the details of this occurrence are irrelevant. The point, the moral, of the whole damn thing is I came out the better person. It’s NOT forgiveness. No, no. It’s not letting the person that most comforts & understands me to suffer over BS that has happened time & time again, & will happen more & more… I will not exacerbate her stress just to prove a point.
Tis better to let it be. What is the point in holding a grudge?
That is a serious question I want all of you to ask yourselves. Take it from me, life is too short to stay pissed off all the time. And if you happened to be on the smelly end of the stick of a situation – when you need to vent, write down, buy a punching bag – ANYTHING!
Don’t let the BAD THINGS fester & grow & rot your day.
You never know, that could be the best day of your life… and you can fuck it up by being blinded by something trivial.
This is so true❤️
